Shawl Wraps

Retrun To Fashion Articles

This year is all about mixing patterns. Solid silks with patterned shoes or accessories are what all the designers are previewing for this year's fashions. There's no better way to do this than to match your semi-formal or formal dress with a shawl wrap.

At, we sell matching shawls for many of our gowns in the same fabric and color as the dresses we carry. We also feature a la carte shawls that come in a variety of colors, designs, and fabrics. When paired with a simple black or red dress, these shawls make an ordinary outfit stunning.

They can be worn in a number of ways, and should be draped according to your body type. If you have a large chest or you're self-conscious about your arms, it's best to wrap the shawl around your shoulders and tie it in the front. Or, you can rest it on the napes of your elbows and pull it up to the bustline, wrapping the excess fabric around your forearms for security.

If your bottom half is your "trouble area," then you might want to wrap the shawl around your hips or stomach. Draped diagonally across either area and tied on the side will hide any figure flaws easily and gracefully. Unless you're ultra-daring, avoid tying a bow in the front or back of your dress or anywhere but on the side. Bows attract attention, so make sure to keep them in places you want to get noticed.
